ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: on july 14th, in STOCKHOLM, Sant’Anna SCHOOL retis lab. ORGANIZES FIRST INTERNATIONAL RTcMAS WORKSHOP ON REAL TIME COMPLIANT MULTI-AGENT SYSTEMS

The Federated Artificial Intelligence Meeting (FAIM) will be held in Stockholm from July 10-15, 2018, including the major Artificial Intelligence conferences: AAMAS (Autonomous Agents and Multi-Agent Systems), IJCAI-ECAI (International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence), ICML (International Conference on Machine Learning), ICCbr (Annual meeting of the Case-Based Reasoning community and the leading international conference) and SoCS (11th Annual Symposium on Combinatorial Search). Rather than holding separate workshops, the joint FAIM workshop program aims to stimulate and facilitate discussion, interaction, and comparison of methods, and ideas related to specific topics in the area of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and autonomous agents.

Due to the unique opportunity for a joint program, the workshop proposals needed to have a broader audience, and joint proposals from organizers of multiple events have made this international workshop unusually competitive. Through a highly competitive selection process, the AMAS Conference Committee chose Professor Giorgio Buttazzo, founder of Sant’Anna School RETIS Lab., Davide Calvaresi, post-doctoral fellowship at University of Applied Science Western Switzerland, and Professor Aldo F. Dragoni of Università Politecnica delle Marche for organizing the first international workshop on Real-Time compliant Multi-Agent Systems (RTcMAS). This meeting, which focuses on exploitation of MAS in Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS) and the Internet of Things, will be held on 14th July 2018 at Stockholmsmässan.

Artificial Intelligence applications have been playing an important role in Cyber-Physical Systems. Most AI algorithms are characterized by unpredictable performances, making them almost unusable for real-time control. Researches have then focused on tailoring AI techniques to make them more predictable within strict timing constraints. RTcMAS have the potential to face the challenges of the next-generation decentralized systems with increasing connections and interactions, and guarantee the completion of tasks within the deadlines.

The RTcMAS workshop aims to gather the attention of the AI audience with the goal of building the grounds for the next-generation Intelligent CPS, capable to face the challenges of the “ever more connected” Internet of Things era.
